New Hampshire is renowned for its upland brook trout streams. The best habitat is no doubt in the north and north central parts of the state, particularly in the White Mountains. However, there is substantial cold water habitat across virtually the entire state, barring a relatively compact area near the SE coast and Manchester. Exotic Rainbow and Brown trout are more common than brookies at lower elevations.
